THE LOST CAR KEY
The lost car key...
As I sipped my coffee, talking with my father-in-law,
I heard the birds chirping merrily outside the window.
Their distant hymn, a joyful sound, with a splendid view,
Filled me with awe, a moment fresh and new.
This beautiful, tranquil place, I loved so well.
I wished my husband were here, sharing memories and stories to tell.
It would make my day and ring my sweet bell.
Yet, God's wisdom doesn't allow me to stay in my comfort shell.
As I began to write my poem's next stanza,
My phone rang, a call from my teacher, Dr. Crispina
We started our prayers, reflecting on Black Saturday,
Sharing insights on Jesus' sacrifice in an array.
Yet, whilst we prayed, I gazed down the road below,
I remembered my car key, I lost a few hours ago.
Climbing upward last night to where I stand,
I stumbled on the dark and stony land.
As we finished, Ma'am Fe Rosario appeared,
As she closed the prayer, the sun's fierce heat I feared.
I sought the key, my signal lost and weak,
And found it, beneath the grass so sleek.
The key to happiness lies in our hand,
A lesson learned from that lost key, I understand.
The joy we crave, we will never truly find,
Unless we open our hearts to God's word, we'll be confined.
