SMILING THROUGH THE PAIN

Image
I gave you my time, my loyalty, my all — but doubt became the space between us. Perhaps you don't treasure me the same way anymore, and one day, I simply turned and walked away — not out of anger alone, but because my heart had had enough.   I could not force you to stay, so I learned to love you in this way — just seeing that you are alive, that you are safe — that gentle green sign is enough for me.   I never, ever regret loving you, for it is truly a beautiful thing to have loved at all. The happiest route I know is simply to follow the will of my heart.   I don't regret a single thing — not the moments, not the love we shared. Those beautiful memories, once so vivid and bright, are gently fading, blurring, softening into light.   And so we will take our different paths now — walking forward, smiling through the pain, even while our hearts are aching.   I know I will never turn my back again — I am finally protecting my peace. No longer giving more than...

WHEN THE STARS WERE YOUNG

Image
When the stars were young, and so too were our days, we seemed to think only of our plans, our dreams, our achievements. But when we grow mature, we understand, as we age, that we have but an ethereal dwelling on this earth.   We come to see, and softly imagine, the celestial, the cosmic, waiting upon us, beyond time, beyond place. And so we become ageless. Touched by our stars, we become the song of the wilderness.   Just as we navigate the road of life, every thought, every act of trust, every maneuver we take matters. We must ask ourselves, where is it we are going?  Do I stay here, or move toward my purpose, toiling? We arrive at destinations we never imagined, guided by a plan greater than our own grit, one that unfolds in ways that are truly perfect.   We may experience turbulence, but it strengthen us to endure, a lesson no school can ever teach, an education that lasts a lifetime. Though our hearts may sometimes tremble with worries, something wonderful is wa...

WHERE MY SOUL BELONGS

Image
I see myself at peace in my cozy garden, my little world, my tiny paradise that shines. I dwell here, home at last. My spirit finds comfort in the gentle rustle of leaves, each one humble yet proud, just as it is. This is where not only the flowers blossom...so do I.   I may travel near and far, yet I always find myself missing this place, my humble home, my tranquil abode. No matter how far I go, no matter how long I stay away, nothing compares to this quiet haven of mine. This is where my soul belongs, unparalleled. This is my home.  ~ME Helen A. Sarita

THIS JOURNEY OF MINE

Image
My birthday poem   I never thought this day would come  that I could smile while reminiscing about the years that have passed. I remember the tears. I remember the pains. I remember the laughter I've shared with friends.   I never dreamed of grand things, I simply turned my face forward and lived life, determined to keep moving, one step at a time. I let the breeze carry me to the destination prepared by Him.   I traveled from one place to another, waiting to see what life would unfold for each of us. I reached for places I never thought I could touch, and walked among the stars that once seemed too high to catch.   I kept going. And somewhere along the way, I found myself living what others only dream of. Sometimes I stumble. Sometimes I fall. But I always rise and keep walking on. And now, I stand in days I once only hoped for, blessed beyond what I ever dared to ask for.   Today I turn sixty-one — six decades journeying through this world of uncertaintie...
